Don Watts and Jeff Denny win Lake Drive Championship on Burt and Mullett Lakes

The team of Don Watts and Jeff Denny won the September 23-24, 2011 Lake Drive Marine championship on Burt and Mullett Lakes with 9 bass weighing 44.69 pounds to take the top prize of a new boat. A 6.27 pounds kicker smallmouth bass today sealed the victory caught on a Poor Boy's Dixie Darter. Don Watts reports that most of their smallmouth bass were caught on the larger Dixie Darter.

The theme of the first event of division 37 was big bass. Their first tournament was held on Reeds Lake in East Grand Rapids, Michigan June 10, 2011. The bad weather didn’t stop the anglers or the big bass from biting. Top honors went to the team of Don Watts and Ben Nielsen with a great limit of largemouth bass topping the scales at 16.36 lbs.

Just in from TBF of Michigan president Jeff Cox, thanks to one fish weighed in by the last possible Michigan TBF state team member, Michigan comes back to win their 3rd TBF Northern Divisional Championship in a row!!!! Michigan TBF State Teams Leads Host Indiana by 9 Pounds on Day 1

Just in from TBF of Michigan president Jeff Cox. Day 1 of the TBF Northern Divisional championship has finished with the TBF of Michigan team holding a 9 pound lead over 2nd place home team Indiana!! The fishing is very tough - only 77 15" keepers caught today by 72 anglers! That is tough! Fishing Patoka Lake in Indiana today through Friday.
