PAA Reduces Entry Fees For 2012

BENTON, Ky. (Jan. 20, 2012) – Entry fees will be reduced for the 2012 Bass Pro Shops PAA Tournament Series which begins in May on Old Hickory Lake in Tennessee.
Official registration begins Feb. 5 for the Bass Pro Shops PAA Tournament Series. Entry fees have been reduced to $1,500 per tournament for the Pro Division. Along with Old Hickory in Hendersonville, Tenn., other events include Neely Henry Lake in Gadsden, Ala., and the Arkansas River in Muskogee, Okla.

BENTON, Ky. (Nov. 30, 2011) – Known for its outstanding fishing and history in the sport, legendary Lake Toho will play host to the inaugural PAA Tour Team Challenge in January to begin the 2012 Bass Pro Shops PAA Tournament Series season.
PAA Rules Wellman Ineligible to Compete

BENTON, Ky. (Sept. 16, 2011) – The Professional Anglers Association has declared Michigan professional angler Nate Wellman ineligible to compete in any of its events for a year.
Wellman was fined $2,500 and put on probation for one year by B.A.S.S. following an investigation into a complaint by his final day co-angler at the recent Bass Pro Shops Northern Open on Lake Erie. Wellman won the tournament. His co-angler reported to tournament officials that Wellman made repeated statements that, according to B.A.S.S., “were suggestive of a rules violation.”
Danny Blandford Steps Down as PAA Program Director

BENTON, Ky. (July 22, 2011) – Danny Blandford, Program Director for the Professional Anglers Association, has resigned to accept another position in the fishing industry.
Blandford worked with the PAA since 2009 in a variety of roles, including Business Development Manager and most recently as Program Director handling sponsor partnership contracts, sales, promotions and operations, among other duties. His final day is July 22.
Dave Mansue of Texas Elected as PAA President

BENTON, Ky. (May 24, 2011) – Dave Mansue of Texas has been elected President of the Professional Anglers Association by the PAA Board of Directors.
Mansue, 58, lives on Toledo Bend Reservoir and competes on the PAA Tournament Series and Bassmaster Open circuit. He moved there in 2009 with his wife, Andrea, upon his retirement as a lieutenant after a 30-year career with the West Windsor (N.J.) Police Department.
