When rainfall saturated Branson, Mo., and water levels rose to dangerous levels last week, permits were revoked by the Water Patrol Division of the Missouri State Highway Patrol, and all events — including the Bass Pro Shops Bassmaster Central Open — were canceled on Table Rock Lake.

Diet Mountain Dew pro dominates Lake Hartwell tournament
MINNEAPOLIS (May 4, 2011) — South Carolina’s Lake Hartwell served as the venue for the third Walmart FLW Tour event of the season. And while Hartwell is known for its clear water and blueback herring, pro Jason Christie ignored both and chose to explore the shallow, stained water in Beaverdam Creek. Fishing to his strengths, the Oklahoma native said he felt right at home slinging spinnerbaits to isolated pieces of cover. The result was a dominating wire-to-wire win, his first on Tour. Complete coverage of the event will air May 8 from 1-2 p.m. ET on VERSUS as part of the weekly “FLW Outdoors” program.

Boater Todd Hensley of New Albany, Ind., caught three bass weighing 15 pounds, 11 ounces April 30 to win $6,037 in the BFL Hoosier Division tournament on Lake Monroe. The next BFL Hoosier Division tournament is scheduled for June 25 on Lake Patoka in Jasper, Ind.

BENTON, Ky. (May 3, 2011) – Two current members and a veteran of the fishing industry have been elected to serve on the Professional Anglers Association Board of Directors.
Charlie Ingram of Tennessee joins the board as the newest board member. Returning for another term on the board are John Crews of Virginia and Kurt Dove of Texas. Crews has served as President and Vice President of the association, and Dove has served as Secretary.
