The theme of the first event of division 37 was big bass. Their first tournament was held on Reeds Lake in East Grand Rapids, Michigan June 10, 2011. The bad weather didn’t stop the anglers or the big bass from biting. Top honors went to the team of Don Watts and Ben Nielsen with a great limit of largemouth bass topping the scales at 16.36 lbs.

Livingston County 1 on 1 Challenge Division recently held its first event on Woodland Lake on June 4, 2011. They had an fantastic turnout with 19 boats coming out to fish Woodland. The fishing was hot! There was an amazing 11 limits, zero skunks, and when the smoked cleared, John Lytle swept both first places with an impressive 12.27 lb bag, almost 3 lbs better than second place.

4th Consecutive Bassmaster Angler of the Year for KVDDECATUR, Ala. — Kevin VanDam of Kalamazoo, Michigan, amassed enough points Saturday to close the deal he said he’s been focused on since his first cast this season: the 2011 Toyota Tundra Bassmaster Angler of the Year award, his seventh best-angler title and fourth consecutive.

MURRAY, Ky. (June 18, 2011) – Sgt. Pool of Paducah, Ky., and Sgt. Harrison of Mayfield, Ky., won the National Guard FLW Soldier Appreciation Tournament held on Kentucky Lake Saturday. The team, fishing with pro Roy Hawk, caught three bass for a total of 12 pounds, 6 ounces to take the title and bragging rights amongst their peers.

“Wheeler’s been an interesting place for me,” said the pro from Lakeland, Fla., on the eve of the June 16-19 Dixie Duel, the season finale of the 2011 Bassmaster Elite Series regular season.

Lake Champlain offers a mix of both small and largemouth bass
PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. (June 14, 2011) – The EverStart Series is headed to Lake Champlain June 23-25 for the first of four stops in the Northern Division. The tournament will feature as many as 300 pros and co-anglers competing for top awards up to $35,000 plus a Ranger boat with an Evinrude or Mercury outboard for the pro and a Ranger boat with an Evinrude or Mercury outboard plus $5,000 for the co-angler.

PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. (June 16, 2011) – National Guard FLW College Fishing is headed to Lake Champlain June 25 for the second of four stops in the Northern Division. Forty college teams will be competing for a top award of $10,000 to be split between the school and bass fishing club; $7,500 for bass club and $2,500 for their school.
