Fish Starting to Transition as Regional Tournament Berths are on the Line
TRENTON, Mich. (Sept. 9, 2010) – The FLW Bass Fishing League is headed to the Detroit River Sept. 18-19 for the final stop in the Michigan Division for a two day super tournament. As many as 400 boaters and co-anglers will be competing for top awards of up to $11,000 and $4,500, respectively.

BASS, the worldwide authority on bass fishing, announced Wednesday that Yamaha will continue to support BASS for multiple years as an official engine sponsor of the organization. As part of the long-term agreement, Yamaha will serve as an official sponsor of the Bassmaster Classic, Bassmaster Elite Series, Bass Pro Shops Bassmaster Opens and BASS’ Federation Nation presented by Yamaha and Skeeter Boats.

That’s what Kevin Short says about the leaders in the Bass Pro Shops Bassmaster Northern Open race to the 2011 Bassmaster Classic — and he is one of the leaders.
“It’s amazing how tight the points are. I think Ryan (Michigan’s Ryan Said) has a pretty good lead on everybody, but I have to say even he’s not safe. I say nobody’s safe,” Short said heading into the season finale next week on the Chesapeake Bay, from which the Northern’s two Classic qualifiers will emerge.

Just in from TBF of Michigan president Jeff Cox. Day 1 of the TBF Northern Divisional championship has finished with the TBF of Michigan team holding a 9 pound lead over 2nd place home team Indiana!! The fishing is very tough - only 77 15" keepers caught today by 72 anglers! That is tough! Fishing Patoka Lake in Indiana today through Friday.
