The 2011 Forrest Wood Cup presented by Walmart will return to Hot Springs, Ark., and Lake Ouachita Aug. 11-14. Hosted by the Hot Springs Convention & Visitors Bureau, the world championship of bass fishing will feature 116 of the top bass anglers in the world casting for awards up to $600,000 in the Pro Division and up to $60,000 in the Co-angler Division.

Volunteer FLW Outdoors anglers will work with Teen Challenge to fix a chain link fence, take apart a damaged carport, panel a small building along with other small projects. The Teen Challenge headquarters was almost completely destroyed by tornadoes that swept through the area earlier this summer. Anglers will also have the opportunity to attend a meeting that morning with the students of Teen Challenge. Scheduled volunteers are Scott Canterbury, David Dudley, Dave Lefebre, Darrel Robertson, Mark Rose, Wesley Strader and Jay Yelas.
Teen Challenge of Arkansas is a non-profit organization whose purpose is to educate men 18 and older with life-controlling problems. This is accomplished through educational programs that are highly structured. http://www.teenchallengear.org/

Fans will be treated to the FLW Outdoors Expo prior to the final weigh-ins. The Expo includes Ranger boat simulators, the opportunity to interact with professional anglers, enjoy interactive games, activities and giveaways provided by sponsors. The first 1,500 kids 14 and under on Sunday will receive a free Zebco rod and reel combo compliments of US97. Fans can also register to win a fully rigged Ranger Z520 courtesy of the Arkansas Democrat Gazette which will be given away following the final weigh-in on Sunday. All activities are free and open to the public.

Each of the participants in the National Guard Soldier Appreciation Tournament are members of the Arkansas National Guard and most have had at least one tour of duty in Iraq or Afghanistan. In this tournament, FLW Tour pro anglers take teams of two members of the National Guard, fishing to compete amongst their peers. FLW Outdoors operates the tournament in conjunction with the National Guard to show appreciation to our service members.
