Mother Nature biggest factor in bass tournaments on Lake Erie

BUFFALO, N.Y. (Aug. 4, 2011) – The EverStart Series is headed to Lake Erie Aug. 18-20 for the third of four stops in the Northern Division. The tournament will feature as many as 300 pros and co-anglers competing for top awards up to $35,000 plus a Ranger boat with an Evinrude or Mercury outboard for the pro and a Ranger boat with an Evinrude or Mercury outboard plus $5,000 for the co-angler.

BUFFALO, N.Y. (Aug. 4, 2011) – National Guard FLW College Fishing is headed to Lake Erie Aug. 20 for the fourth and final qualifying event in the Northern Division. Forty college teams will be competing for a top award of $10,000 to be split between the school and bass fishing club; $7,500 for bass club and $2,500 for their school.

MINNEAPOLIS (Aug. 30, 2010) – FLW Outdoors announced Monday that professional angler Jim Gildea and co-angler Peter Demoya have been disqualified from the recent FLW Series Eastern Division event held on Lake Champlain Aug. 25-28. Gildea and Demoya violated the off-limits rule by practicing for and fishing a local tournament on Lake Champlain the previous weekend.

(Aug. 27, 2010) – Jason Ober of Johnstown, Pa., caught a 5-bass limit weighing 20 pounds, 4 ounces Friday to recapture the lead in the FLW Series Eastern Division tournament on Lake Champlain. With a three-day catch of 15 bass weighing 58-13, he now holds a solid 3-pound, 8-ounce lead over his closest competitor, Shinichi Fukae of Palestine, Texas heading into the final day of competition.
