Top six punching tickets to Bassmaster Classic
MONROE, La. — Mining a miniscule area made Alabama’s Jamie Horton a champion for the second time on the Ouachita River.
The River Region Bass Fraternity club member relied on the same spot all three days to catch 36 pounds, 2 ounces to win the B.A.S.S. Federation Nation Championship presented by Yamaha and Skeeter Boats and a coveted seat in the 2012 Bassmaster Classic. In addition to his Classic berth, Horton earned the grand prize of a Skeeter Boat/Yamaha Outboard rig valued at $45,000 and an invitation to fish in next year’s Bassmaster Elite Series.

MONROE, La. — Most of the 2011 Bassmaster Junior World Championship competitors said today could have gone better. But for James Graves III, it really couldn't have.
Graves blew away the field on Bayou DeSiard in Monroe, La., with 5 pounds, 12 ounces, which was 3 pounds, 10 ounces better than his closest opponent in the 11- to 14-year-olds age division, Adam Farner.

BUCHANAN, Tenn. (Oct. 30, 2011) – Prevacid pro Dan Morehead of Paducah, Ky., weighed a five-bass limit totaling 19 pounds, 5 ounces Sunday to win the EverStart Series Championship on Kentucky Lake with a four day total of 20 bass weighing 61 pounds, 4 ounces. For his victory, Morehead earned $50,000 plus a 198VX Ranger boat with a 200-horsepower Evinrude or Mercury outboard motor.

GUNTERSVILLE, Ala. (Oct. 23, 2011) – Pro Paul Elias of Laurel, Miss., caught a five-bass limit weighing 23 pounds even Sunday to lead wire-to-wire and win $100,500 at the Walmart FLW Tour on Lake Guntersville presented by Mercury with a four-day catch of 20 bass weighing 102-8.

On Friday pro Bryan Schmitt was removed from competition in the Walmart FLW Tour Open taking place this week on Lake Guntersville due to a violation of tournament rules that took place earlier this season at an event on the Potomac River. Today FLW Outdoors officials clarified his disqualification, which affects not only his eligibility for this tournament, but also future events with the organization.

Five qualify for 2012 Bassmaster Elite Series
BRANSON, Mo. — Chris Zaldain of San Jose, Calif., led the list of five anglers who qualified Saturday to move up in 2012 into the top tier of competition, the Bassmaster Elite Series, through the Bass Pro Shops Bassmaster Central Open circuit.
With 804 points over the circuit’s three events of 2011, Zaldain wrapped up the season as the top angler.
