41 pound 8 ounce monster possible new world record

MADISON – It’s official: the 41 pound, 8 ounce brown trout Roger Hellen of Franksville caught in Lake Michigan on July 16 is now a Wisconsin state record fish.
The Department of Natural Resources received Hellen’s application earlier this week and has confirmed the new state record, which smashes the old record by nearly 5 pounds. The previous record was 36 pounds 8.9 ounces and 40.5 inches for a fish caught August 23, 2004, in Lake Michigan in Kewaunee County.

Rockford, Michigan, USA angler, Tom Healy, guided by Tim Roller, landed a brown trout (Salmo Trutta) on Sept. 9 weighing 18.8 kg (41 lb 7 oz) for a pending IGFA All-tackle record. It took him 15 minutes to bring in using a Rapala Shad Rap while fishing the Manistee River in Michigan. Giant wels catfish also landed by Czech angler from River Po in Italy. Weight matches current IGFA record held for 77 years by Georgia’s George Perry

DANIA BEACH, Fla. USA, (September 15, 2009) --- Documentation for a much talked about 22 lb 4 oz largemouth bass, caught from Japan’s largest lake in July, has arrived into the International Game Fish Association (IGFA) headquarters for world record recognition.
Late Monday, the IGFA, the 70-year old non-profit fisheries conservation, education and record-keeping body, received the application for the largemouth bass (Micropterus salmoides), caught July 2, by Manabu Kurita, 32, of Aichi, Japan. IGFA rules for fish caught outside the U.S. allows anglers 90 days to submit their applications from the date of their catch.
