On September 10, 2011 fishermen of all ages and skill levels will take to the water at Belleville Lake in Belleville, Michigan for a day of fishing, fun and giving back. The 2011 “Catch for a Cause” fishing derby, dinner and raffle will once again benefit Hospice of Michigan. The goal for 2011 is to raise $10,000.

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Don Logan, one of three new owners of B.A.S.S., was named the Distinguished American Sportsman for 2011 by the Alabama Sports Hall of Fame on Saturday.
Logan, an Alabama native and resident of Birmingham, was honored for his lifetime of contributions to sports, including his ownership of the Birmingham Barons minor league baseball team, his service on the Auburn University Foundation, and his recent purchase of B.A.S.S.

CELEBRATION, Fla. — B.A.S.S. LLC has acquired JM Associates, one of the nation’s oldest and largest outdoor programming production companies, B.A.S.S. announced today.
JM Associates was founded by Jerry McKinnis, one of three private investors — along with Don Logan and Jim Copeland — who purchased B.A.S.S. from ESPN in November 2010. The group bought JM from Atlanta-based CSE, which has owned it since 2007.

The Department of Natural Resources and Environment has begun gearing up to return hatchery production of walleyes to historic levels.
The DNRE plans to take some 50 million eggs this spring to produce fry for pond-rearing and direct stocking, an eight-fold increase over the last two years.
