There are a wide variety of sports and competitions that take place on the high school level. From football to cross country, from volleyball to soccer, student athletes have a bevy of extracurricular options to pursue. Some of these garner more attention than others, while some of the less traditional high school sports are given barely any attention at all from 98% of their communities.

Kyler Chelminiak and Nicholas Peterson from Whitnall High School, Wisconsin won the High School Central Regional tournament held on Kinkaid Lake Saturday. TBF along with FLW Outdoors held the high school tournament in conjunction with the FLW College Fishing Central Regional.

Georgia’s McIntosh High School wins High School Southeast Regional
AUBURN, Ala. (Sept. 10, 2011) – The University of Georgia team of Randy Tolbert, Jr. of Rome, Ga., and Chase Simmemon of Alto, Ga., went wire-to-wire to win the National Guard FLW College Fishing Southeast Division Regional Championship presented by Evinrude and hosted by Auburn University on Lake Harding Saturday with five bass weighing 8 pounds, 8 ounces for a three-day total of 24-4. The team beat their closest competitor, Clemson University, by 7 pounds, 8 ounces and won $50,000 to be split between the university and the university’s bass fishing club - $12,500 and a Ranger 177TR with a 90-horsepower outboard wrapped in school colors for the bass club and $12,500 for their school.

Ponca City, Okla. (June 29, 2011) – The Bass Federation (TBF), in partnership with FLW Outdoors, announced it will be hosting the inaugural Student Angler Federation Pennsylvania High School Fishing State Championship, Sunday, August 28 at Presque Isle State Park, Lake Erie, MI at the West Pier boat launch in Presque Isle Bay. The state championship is a two person team event for students in grades 9-12. Registration for high school anglers and their “coach,” who will provide the boat they compete in, is open online at HighSchoolFishing.org or by calling 580.765.9031.
