Boater Dean Meckes of Clayton, N.Y., caught a five-bass limit weighing 17 pounds, 9 ounces July 9 to win $5,255 in the BFL Northeast Division tournament on Lake Cayuga. Meckes used a green pumpkin Senko in 8 to 12 feet of water to catch his fish.

John Detweiler of Harleysville, Pa., caught a five-bass limit weighing 16 pounds, 13 ounces July 9 to win $1,628 in the Co-angler Division.

The next BFL Northeast Division tournament is scheduled for July 23 on 1000 Islands in Clayton, N.Y. After the fifth Northeast Division tournament is complete, the top 40 boaters and 40 co-anglers based on point standings will qualify for the Oct. 13-15 Regional Championship on Smith Mountain Lake in Huddleston, Va. Boaters will compete for a top award of a Ranger 198VX with a 200-horsepower Evinrude or Mercury outboard and a Chevy pick-up, while co-anglers will fish for a new Ranger 198VX.
