9.98 pound smallmouth bass landed from the Indian River
UPDATE: Bruce Kraemer's giant smallmouth bass was certified as the new Michigan state record a couple days later by the Michigan DNR.Bruce Kraemer of Indian River, Michigan likes to fish the Indian River. It's just a few hundred feet from his house so it's convenient to fish his favorite shore fishing point. On September 11 Bruce was using his favorite rig he calls the tri-rig - a three way rig with a weight dropper. Bruce does this to keep the gobies from gobbling up his live nightcrawler he uses for bait.

Rhodes, Michigan bass tournament angler Greg Gasiciel landed the smallmouth bass of a lifetime Sunday, October 18, 2015 while fishing the Bass Anglers of the Sunrise Side Hubbard Lake Open. Gasiciel was fishing a grub shallow along the shoreline when the giant 9.32 pounds smallmouth bass bit. Tournament partner Scott Somerfield netted the monster smallmouth bass.

Indiana Fishing Hook Restrictions Relaxed and Clarified
Effective May 24, 2013, under a new Indiana Department of Natural Resources (IDNR) rule, an umbrella rig, like the Alabama Rig for example, can now have up to three hooks and unlimited hookless attractors. When artificial lures are used on an umbrella rig or similar device, they are considered one hook, even if the lure has multiple hooks.
