Indiana Fishing Hook Restrictions Relaxed and Clarified
Effective May 24, 2013, under a new Indiana Department of Natural Resources (IDNR) rule, an umbrella rig, like the Alabama Rig for example, can now have up to three hooks and unlimited hookless attractors. When artificial lures are used on an umbrella rig or similar device, they are considered one hook, even if the lure has multiple hooks.

Public open house on proposed acquisition of property on Eagle Lake for boating access site set for May 30
The Michigan Department of Natural Resources (MDNR) will conduct a public open house to gather input on the proposed acquisition of property on Eagle Lake in Cass County for development of a boating access site. The open house will be held on Thursday, May 30 from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Our Lady of the Lake Church Social Hall, located at 24832 U.S. 12 in Edwardsburg, Michigan.

Complications from recent neck surgery believed a factor claiming life of famed fishing tackle inventor, angling authority, author and longtime TV hostTAMPA, Fla., - 4/1/2013 - Doug Hannon, a legend in the fishing world known as the "Bass Professor" whose unique expertise in a wide range of design skills and academic subjects in and outside of angling, died Thursday, March 28 at his home in Keystone, a north Tampa suburb.
Hannon was 66.
