Tough Chevy Suburban Saves Team Stricker

The 2008 Ranger Advantage Tour nearly ended in tragedy Saturday, December 6 as you may have read on BassFan.com, but thanks to a new tough Chevy Suburban, Kim and Danny Stricker walked away with almost no injury! Since they had piggybacked their visit to the Ranger factory in Flippin Arkansas with a taping trip for their great show Hook n' Look to Dale Hollow earlier in the week, they had all of their camera equipment with them. None of it was damaged! While the Chevy Suburban was totaled after rolling, Kim's Ranger Boat escaped harm with only minimal trailer damage.

I am a 44 year old businessman and a passionate outdoor enthusiast. I am one of 7 children born and raised in the city of Detroit. While I am not employed by the Big 3, I have worked around the industry my entire career. For the following reasons, I believe the Senate needs to approve this bill and protect America from falling into a depression!
1. This is NOT a Detroit issue and should NOT be isolated as such. States like Ohio, Iowa, Illinois and Indiana, along with Michigan and many others, will be crushed. Trying to fix this later will be far more expensive and perhaps beyond repair.
Important Decision Coming Up for Our Economic Future

Update: Join me in reaching out to Senate! Concerned Michigan Sportsman Stephen Dooley Speaks Out.
Coming up Tuesday or Wednesday, our government may decide whether or not they will loan the auto industry money needed to retool and invest in the near future. GM and the other manufacturers say they can't get the money they need due to the banking industry emergency. They say they may go bankrupt if they don't get this money causing a possible cascading effect through our entire economy at a very bad time, particularly for Michigan.
I'm always in favor of providing information so you can make an informed decision or at least, be knowledgeable about the issue. Here is a short video on the issue along with a link to a web site from the auto industry.

...but it's time to go home (and back to work...)! Isn't that how it always?
I never finished my story about the 2008 fall big bass hunt - shorter in duration this year, but no less important to my well-being. After a total error of a day on Saturday, Sunday could easily go better. It definitely started out well when I saw that hoards of bass were coming into the shallows. They were not doing much other than just sitting there, but at least you could now tell there's a lot of bass in the lake unlike the previous days.
This isn't that uncommon in the fall. Sometimes they crash the shore hard on a warming trend, but the past couple of seasons it's been more of a 'sashay' into the shallows. I was heartened when I got slammed by this very nice 5 lbs 1 oz smallie still fairly early in the day. Caught the beauty on a dark melon tinsel Xtreme Bass Tackle tube in about 10 feet of water.
I decided to wait until later in the afternoon because I've danced with this partner before... bass swimming into the shallows in groups and just sitting in 4 to 7 feet of water over sand looking like a big ole aquarium! You can drive yourself crazy in the spring and fall sometimes trying to catch these bass.
