Move went fine. The new server is much faster. Which is good!

I'm planning on moving to a new server within the next 2 to 3 weeks. Just a little friendly warning as there might be a few hours of odd behavior when the process starts. I will try to have it done at night or weekend.

I'm not trying to rush winter. I'm sure some semblance of winter is on the way. That means we are approaching the 2026 Ultimate Sport Show Tour - the three biggest fishing and outdoor sport shows in Michigan!

Yesterday at the Natural Resources Commission meeting in Lansing, science prevailed thanks to many, many persons who took the time to write in, and especially those who showed up to speak before the Commission on Commissioner Walters’ amendment to close bass fishing on the Inland Waterway and Black Lake from May 1 until the third Saturday in June.

Quote from: Skulley on February 04, 2024, 03:43:20 PMHow does the "Shoutbox" work, Dan??? How can a member post to it???

BD                    ;D

If you're logged in you should be able to just type in the Shoutbox text box and then click the 'Shout!' button. It only works for logged in members. If you've tried and it didn't work I may have to check permissions. I did think I tested it previously. I'll test it again just to be sure. Thanks for asking.

Well, I will figure something out on this for the future so we can have it again. Thanks to the few of you who posted interest. I appreciate all the suggestions too!

I'm where I always am - LAST PLACE! Even though cameraguy is always reminding me I manage to forget to create a team. I'm still stuck in the old days when they created a default team automatically for you.

Though I think I actually scored higher with the default teams than when I picked!!!  ;D

That's what I keep hearing. Guys talking about running 3 days between charges! It's almost to good to be true, but I trust well some of the anglers reporting this. Also found out my friend Shaun Boggs is a manager for Millertech now I trust Shaun. He's always been a straight shooter!

Well, thanks for noting that and your kind compliments. Bryan is a good friend. We've fished a few times together luckily. He is an expert angler!

I was honored and blushed when Jeff Nedwick asked me about the article. Thanks for the link to the summary. I expected it to only be online for subscribers.

That sounds exciting for you! I know there are a few books out there by divers about Great Lakes, and even Lake Erie, shipwrecks that can be interesting and valuable resources. I've fished a few and dropped video on them though more in St. Clair and other places than Erie.

Question: My automatic video embedder does not have code for Rumble. Do they by any chance have embed code where you could show the video right here? Or maybe you're prefer not to do that? Not a big deal. Just wondering. Thanks!

Bass Fishing Inland Lakes & Rivers / Re: Lake Skegemog
Last post by djkimmel - July 11, 2024, 06:40:48 AM
Now, I haven't been up there in quite a while, but Torch in the summer at the south end has been a 'party' lake for as long as I've fished up there, while Skegemog is more of a 'fishing' lake. There's boat traffic during the summer on the weekend, but not the swarms like Torch.

The fun-lovers like the crystal clear water in Torch. Not so much the wood-stained water in Skeg. You should enjoy it though the fishing may be a little tougher in the summer. Of course, there's Elk Lake too. A few good summer spots out there.

If you go, how about a fishing report when you're done? Thanks, Dan

Bass Fishing Inland Lakes & Rivers / Lake Skegemog
Last post by the dirty musky II - July 06, 2024, 10:54:20 AM
Hey gang, does anyone know if Skegemog gets over run with jet boats and wake board people like Torch does during summer time?
new Bass boat this year, new bass fisherman here as well. (also musky hunter) Any help greatly appreciated. Wifey and I are looking for some fishing lakes with less craziness.
THANKS!

Who still uses their side scan fairly regularly?  I had it on my old boat, then when I got my fiberglass Ranger it didn't come with it.  I didn't replace it for several years.  I finally got it back on my boat I got in the fall.  Man, I didn't realize how much I missed it until I put back on this boat.  I was scouting around Lake Erie and came across a couple old wrecks on the bottom that I never knew were there.  I had my ice fishing camera with me, and I was able to drop that down as well and get a decent look at it with the fish around it.  I have to say it was my highlight of fishing year so far.  I think I enjoy finding something new to fish as much as catching a big one sometimes.  This spot did hold good smallmouth too.

My buddy Jim and I adventured into some of my old stomping grounds in Indiana a couple weeks ago.  It ended up being quite the adventure with some decent catches along the way.
