I went looking for the Success Shipwreck due to the fascinating history of the ship. In this video, you will find out the facts of it being used as a floating prison. The Great Houdini did an escape trick from one of its cells. The water was murky this day, but there are quite a few fish swimming around the wreck.

I've been contacted by a Deborah Butler who works with CIEE foreign exchange students. She's looking for placement of a 16-year-old student in the Traverse City or Lansing area in Michigan.

Ben is a fishing enthusiast from Germany who enjoys the outdoors. I'm getting the work out thinking someone might know a family willing to host Ben for the 2024-25 school year and help him pursue his interest in fishing after school hours.

A Little More About Ben
Ben loves riding his motorcycle back home in Germany to meet up with friends. He has a great sense of humor, so I'm sure he'll be meeting up with American friends quickly after arriving here. He enjoys family activities and would love to be part of an American family for the school year.

In Germany, Ben lives with his father, Andreas, his mother, Leni, and his 11-year-old sister, Silke. The family fishes, wakeboards, swims, do chores together and spends quality time with each other. Ben says: "I hope that my host family is kind and that I will settle in there quickly. That we would     experience many great things together and that my host family would introduce me to their culture and everyday American life."

More Information About Hosting an Exchange Student
Besides opening their hearts and homes to exchange students, host families provide three meals a day, provide a bedroom and bathroom (which can be shared), and make lifelong connections with the student. Exchange students come with their own health insurance and spending money. They speak strong English and are interviewed and vetted for success in the program.

Pass the work around if you think you know someone who might be interested in helping Ben. I remember being friends with several exchange students back in the day, including Dieter from Germany. It was always a great learning experience. Contact me if you are interested or know someone else who might be.

B.A.S.S. / Over 220 Boats B.A.S.S. Open o...
Last post by djkimmel - July 11, 2024, 08:07:20 AM
I counted something like ~223 boats fishing the B.A.S.S. Lake St. Clair Open today. Lots of friends and fishing acquaintances in both the boater and co-angler side of things. Guess I have lots of people to root for!

I hope it's not super rough there today? Who is following along what is happening with BassTrakk? Maybe a few of you are on the big lake watching in person?

I see someone has already popped 20 pounds (Trevor McKinney I think?)! He must have been really ON them to have 20 so early in the day!

For some reason I thought they would have BASS Live for this one but I don't see it. Do they only do it part of the Open or am I confused about that?

Well, I had to upgrade the forum photo gallery and it blew out all the permissions. Since I'm admin, I did not notice that only admin had access now! WHOOPS!!

I think I have it set now to all logged in members in good standing can see and use the gallery. If you are a Fingerling or greater (10 posts or more get you into Fingerling or higher) you can even have your own personal gallery.

Logged in users with less than 10 posts are in the Fry member group and cannot have a personal gallery. This is solely to avoid spammers from getting on and posting things we don't want to see here. I hope you understand, and just post away. Every post is appreciated. Everyone has something helpful to say.

Look for the Gallery link in the main forum menu to visit the photos. There's lots of photos there already. There are some size limits for images uploaded to the gallery.

Skulley (I'm still getting used to this), I'm sure glad you said something and sorry I missed it until now. There was a new permission I completely missed so no one except admin could add Shouts! I have it now to regular and special members can post shouts. Better late than never I will say to cover my boo boo. THANKS!

Quote from: Skulley on February 04, 2024, 03:43:20 PMHow does the "Shoutbox" work, Dan??? How can a member post to it???

BD                    ;D

If you're logged in you should be able to just type in the Shoutbox text box and then click the 'Shout!' button. It only works for logged in members. If you've tried and it didn't work I may have to check permissions. I did think I tested it previously. I'll test it again just to be sure. Thanks for asking.

Well, I will figure something out on this for the future so we can have it again. Thanks to the few of you who posted interest. I appreciate all the suggestions too!

I'm where I always am - LAST PLACE! Even though cameraguy is always reminding me I manage to forget to create a team. I'm still stuck in the old days when they created a default team automatically for you.

Though I think I actually scored higher with the default teams than when I picked!!!  ;D

That's what I keep hearing. Guys talking about running 3 days between charges! It's almost to good to be true, but I trust well some of the anglers reporting this. Also found out my friend Shaun Boggs is a manager for Millertech now I trust Shaun. He's always been a straight shooter!

Well, thanks for noting that and your kind compliments. Bryan is a good friend. We've fished a few times together luckily. He is an expert angler!

I was honored and blushed when Jeff Nedwick asked me about the article. Thanks for the link to the summary. I expected it to only be online for subscribers.
