The poorly written, damaging to Michigan Sport Fishing commercial fishing bills have been introduced again. State House Bills 5801 and 5802, introduced by Rep. Dave Prestin and Rep. Jason Morgan, have been assigned to the House Committee on Natural Resources and Tourism.

This is a tale of two lakes. Intertwined lakes, in Barry County, Michigan. Where somehow the water has gone away. Upper and Lower Crooked Lakes, both near and dear to me, are suffering from the lowest water levels I've seen in the 35+ years I've been fishing them.

My channel partner Jim and I only managed one day to get out there last spring. It was early spring before the smallmouth moved up. Last post by Chewy - February 25, 2025, 07:53:10 PMI ended up finding a place in Grand Rapids. West Michigan Propeller Inc. I dropped it off and they said it would take 3 to 4 weeks. Seems like they are busy so that's a good sign. Guy who helped me seemed extremely knowledgeable. I will let everyone know how they do.

The lake runs about 21 miles long. This particular morning I had 4 hours to fish and lucked into the mother load of pre-spawn smallmouth moving up.

I believe I sent a prop there once and it came back real nice. Brinkmans Propeller Service in Grass Lake. Unfortunately, the number I have for them has been disconnected. It was a long time ago. I wonder if they went out of business?
I don't find a believable website though many business listings still exist for them? The website listed on their profiles is supposedly the email address for a pharmaceutical company in Europe? So I'm thinking out of business and something shady going on with their business listings?
I hope you can find someone.

Bass Fishing Tips, Techniques & General Discussion / Prop repair
Last post by Chewy - January 25, 2025, 09:02:42 PMDoes anyone have a shop in the West Michigan area that they bring their prop to for repairs? I have a 4-blade stainless Mercury Trophy Plus that is starting to show its age. Just a few dings here and there but nothing major. Just needs the blade edges to be cleaned up and to make sure its balanced. Any help is much appreciated.
