Yesterday at the Natural Resources Commission meeting in Lansing, science prevailed thanks to many, many persons who took the time to write in, and especially those who showed up to speak before the Commission on Commissioner Walters’ amendment to close bass fishing on the Inland Waterway and Black Lake from May 1 until the third Saturday in June.

Just before the October Natural Resources Committee meeting on Thursday, October 9, Commissioner John Walters added an amendment to Fisheries Order 206 – “Bass - Closed bass CIR season from May 1 – Friday before the third Saturday in June for Burt, Mullet, Crooked, Pickerel, and Black Lakes and their connecting waters.”

Due to low water levels on the Great Lakes, particularly Lake St. Clair, the mouth of the channel at the Michigan DNR Clinton River Cutoff ramp needs to be dredged.

If anyone wants to hang in the booth at that time, I would appreciate it. Not critical but Friday might be busy.

I believe I sent a prop there once and it came back real nice. Brinkmans Propeller Service in Grass Lake. Unfortunately, the number I have for them has been disconnected. It was a long time ago. I wonder if they went out of business?
I don't find a believable website though many business listings still exist for them? The website listed on their profiles is supposedly the email address for a pharmaceutical company in Europe? So I'm thinking out of business and something shady going on with their business listings?
I hope you can find someone.

Bass Fishing Tips, Techniques & General Discussion / Prop repair
Last post by Chewy - January 25, 2025, 09:02:42 PMDoes anyone have a shop in the West Michigan area that they bring their prop to for repairs? I have a 4-blade stainless Mercury Trophy Plus that is starting to show its age. Just a few dings here and there but nothing major. Just needs the blade edges to be cleaned up and to make sure its balanced. Any help is much appreciated.

Volunteers who work at least 2 hours will get a free exhibitor pass to the show that is good for the whole show. I can only give passes to persons who help at the booth so please stay at the booth and help out during your time(s)!

I could use a helper for ~30 minutes after the show ends Sunday for tearing down, and packing the booth and materials into my car. That would be awesome if you can help!?! All volunteers will be added for a year to the special GLBass Friends group if not already in there. And you will have my eternal thanks and appreciation!
BOOTH VOLUNTEERS SUMMARY
You will get more details in the private volunteers area of the forum. You will be able to see it once I add you to the temporary show group. I will state a few things now. I need people who can talk to others in an outgoing, friendly fashion about joining the websites - mostly GreatLakesBass.com and GreatLakesIceFishing.com, handing out stuff and just answering general questions about fishing. NO ALCOHOL in the booth. No sales or giveaways of items not pre-approved by me before the show.
This is only a 10x10 booth so there's not a lot of room for extra friends and family to come and hang out in the booth. Please NO extra people behind the table or blocking the table front who are not on the volunteer list. The schedule can be adjusted some to accommodate people willing to help who can't fit one of the existing time slots. THANK YOU!!!!
