At the March 20, 2014 Michigan Senate Outdoor Recreation and Tourism Committee hearing on Senate Bill 869 (SB 869), Michigan Department of Natural Resources (MDNR) Legislative Liaison Trevor VanDyke stated the MDNR fully supports eliminating the existing bass season limits from state law because recent science has proven that some of their concerns they have had in the past are no longer as large of a concern and giving flexibility to the Natural Resources Commission (NRC) to set an earlier season will be good for everyone in Michigan.

Jamie Clover Adams to head MDARD
LANSING, Mich. June 25, 2012 - Gov. Rick Snyder today announced the appointment of state Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (MDARD) Director Keith Creagh as director of the state Department of Natural Resources (DNR), and state Department of Environmental Quality's Policy and Legislative Affairs Director Jamie Clover Adams as MDARD director.

The Michigan Department of Natural Resources, Lake St. Clair Fisheries Research Station will be conducting a fisheries survey in Anchor Bay, Lake St. Clair, from April 25 to May 24, 2012. The primary purpose of the survey is to assess the status of predator fish populations in the lake. The survey gear used will be trap nets, located along a 10-foot contour, between the Clinton River and New Baltimore.
