Move went fine. The new server is much faster. Which is good!

I'm planning on moving to a new server within the next 2 to 3 weeks. Just a little friendly warning as there might be a few hours of odd behavior when the process starts. I will try to have it done at night or weekend.

Yesterday at the Natural Resources Commission meeting in Lansing, science prevailed thanks to many, many persons who took the time to write in, and especially those who showed up to speak before the Commission on Commissioner Walters’ amendment to close bass fishing on the Inland Waterway and Black Lake from May 1 until the third Saturday in June.

BABY!  Finally got out.  It's been such a looooong winter.  But it's over now.

Bender and I hit the Portage Chain this AM.  We went to my favorite out of the way early season spot.  We noticed that the farther we went up the chain, the warmer the water got.  Even that though, it was only in the low 60's.
We both tried rattle baits to begin with, but after yesterday's cold front, we figured we had to slow things down a tad.

Turns out that the 2 hot baits of the day were the Nemesis stick worm in the new rusty nail color, and the KLK color.  We tried both wacky style, and Texas rigged.
We caught and released about 15 Bass between us in the 3 hours that we were there.
We decided to end the day when we hit a double and boated two two pounders at the same time.  All in all, it was a great way to start the season.
Yeah bably, Bass season is on again!
So much water.  So many lures.  So little time.

What a great time this morning! That double was something else! Thanks for taking me out Rick!
I ended the day on Crooked Lake here at home with 4 pike and a one decent LM so today more than made up for my rocky start yesterday. Can't wait to get back out there.

Fiker, how far up did you guys go? I was out there a couple days ago and the water temp was all the way up to 64 in strawberry!!! I didnt pay much attention to the water temp in the rest of the lakes. Also anyone heading up to strawberry be really careful they still haven't brought the water up all the way and the current is really ripping just before you get into the lake.
