I'm planning on moving to a new server within the next 2 to 3 weeks. Just a little friendly warning as there might be a few hours of odd behavior when the process starts. I will try to have it done at night or weekend.

Another fishing report in pictures. This time I revisited Round Lake and the little rowboat that waits there for $20 a day. I have my own stern-mount Minn Kota trolling motor I take there with me to get around and maneuver some.

Still no bass busting the surface out there unlike last year and it was pretty weedy though you can tell they treated the weeds. I started tossing a chatterbait with an Angling AI poured swimming stickworm both in black and blue. It was the right choice for this day and the spawn - post-spawn fishing on Round Lake!

I started the morning on a weedy point and caught a nice keeper early on the chatterbait just slow reeling it through the tops of the weeds!

A little while later another small keeper jumps all over the chatterbait along some scruffy weeds near a sandy dropoff.

Took a couple hours but another solid keeper fell for the chatterbait with the big Angling AI swimming stickworm trailer. It makes for a pretty large profile and these bass this day sure seem to like it. I'm switching back and forth between other lures but they really seem to prefer the chatterbait this day, catching most of them in 7 foot or less of water so far!

20 minutes later another small keeper falls for the chatterbait along the same shallow weedline.

I do keep changing things up and while fishing a small #90 Whopper Plopper over a shallow weed hump I catch my first Whopper Plopper bass ever! A nice change of pace since topwater is maybe the most fun way to catch bass of all! It doesn't work real well so I end up just catching 2 small ones this day on it but nothing bigger anywhere else. They just aren't wanting to bust the surface yet out here...

Sometimes in my rush to hurry up and catch more bass I take the worst pictures. Plus I can't see that little screen very well, especially on really sunny, bright days! Here is my 2nd Whopper Plopper bass I caught from the shallow weed hump before I switched back to the chatterbait.

After going back to the chatterbait I start going around the lake a little ways outside of the shallow lily pads actually throwing out the chatterbait over deeper water for suspended post-spawn bass when my biggest bass of the day slams the big chatterbait / Angling AI swimming stickworm combination  lure! It happens mid-afternoon when it is really hot and bright. Very similar to a couple bass I caught earlier doing this same pattern with the Kustom Kicker Deposit Spin Titanium Revolution spinnerbait. Good to know a pattern can still produce though today it just seemed like they wanted the chatterbait.

A fun day with enough bass to make it interesting! Until next time...

Help stop invasive spcies. Don't move fish between unconnected bodies of water. Clean, drain and dry your boat before launching on another water body.
