After 2 days of Mother Nature handing our butts to us TCook and I took out a little revenge and pounded some. We finally figured things out and in 3 hours put over 50 in the boat the best five weighed 26 10 and the best 10 were a bit over 49. All beautiful smallmouth. You have to love God's country. If they play again in the morning they are in danger. I am sure Tim will post some pics I guess I can't.

Sounds like a good time. What body of water were you guys fishing?

Grinny

I think i saw you guys out there, you let me borrow your lure unsnagger for my crankbait at the north end of the lake. That was a great hump you guys were on, I talked to the guys just south of you, and fished with them for 20 mins before I had to head back to GR, and I landed 2 there, and they had landed a dozen in about 45 mins. The best being 5.8, they left right after me so you guys had that whole area all to yourselves! I only landed about a dozen yesterday, but they were all 3.5 pounds and up, the biggest 4 of them were just shy of 5 pounds...

Jmeis

Yes grinny that was us.we went an hour or more after we left before we got on them solid, but we figured itt out and had a day to dream about. Not so good today but still had a bag that most dream of. I have been there 4 or 5 days a week for the last 5 weeks. My best days by far were with Tim or solo. He is a great guy and a great fishermen. Glad we were finally able to hook up, we will do more damage in the future.

I'm glad you got into them good, sounds like a great day! Thanks again for letting me borrow your lure desnagger, nothing worse than losing a $20 crankbait!

jjjmpv22

What lake were you guys on?  What was the water  temp ? Sounds like you really got into them?

Jmeis

On Burt fishing jigs. 59.9 water temp. way too warm for good fishing....

Sounds like a great day of fishing! I'm heading up next week to mess around before iceup. Been thinking about Crooked, Burt and Mullet for a long time but never really make it past Charleviox...
If ya wanna share some info hit me up. New to this site, but have been going up to Traverse City area smallie chasing since 95' or so. Absolutely love the fishing up there!

TCook

We are headed back up Tuesday through Thursday this week maybe we will run into eachother. Will probably start on Burt & Mullett and go from there depending on the bite and weather.

You guys were definitely on a great pattern. We were up there for two days as well and although we did not have the luck you did it was still a good time.  I even caught my personal best smallie of the year at slightly under 21". We enjoyed the trip except for the loss of a wheel bearing after we left the ramp on Wed. That was NOT fun. Spent part of that evening and the next morning getting things back together before heading home. It was nice meeting and talking with you guys.

TCook

Ill just put a report here on GLB
FISH HARD!!!

Brownbass

You guys rocked them! I was up Sun-Tue had a ball and caught a bunch of nice ones but nothing like the numbers of big fish you guys had. Definitely gonna have to go north of Petoskey next time :)
