Move went fine. The new server is much faster. Which is good!

I'm planning on moving to a new server within the next 2 to 3 weeks. Just a little friendly warning as there might be a few hours of odd behavior when the process starts. I will try to have it done at night or weekend.

Yesterday at the Natural Resources Commission meeting in Lansing, science prevailed thanks to many, many persons who took the time to write in, and especially those who showed up to speak before the Commission on Commissioner Walters’ amendment to close bass fishing on the Inland Waterway and Black Lake from May 1 until the third Saturday in June.

Got out on St. Clair yesterday with a buddy who needed to run some Stabil into his motor, so we fished for a few hours.  Notice that I said "fished", not "caught".  He got one toothy critter on a chatterbait and that was all she wrote for that outing.  The lake was an utter mess.  It was a gigantic mudhole.  The water was dirty from Selfridge clear across to the Strawberry bar and as far south as the eye could see.  We drove about 2 miles out from Metro and it was still muddy and 2 to 3 footers with a strong Southeast wind.

So after realizing the lake was wated and unfishable, we decided to head up the Sni and into the channels.  We hit several spots and no fish were to be found.  We tried a multitude of presentations from slow to fast...nothing.  I commented to my friend that I have absolutely NO CLUE how to catch fish on the big water this time of year and yesterday I proved it!!!  Anyway, not much of a report.. I know.  But I will likely not be going out on Clair again this year.  It'll take a while for the water to clear and by then it'll probably be too cold even for a psycho fisherman like me.

Anyone ever fish the big water and have success this time of year?  I'd love to learn your secret.  ;D  Oh well, time to head out to Cass and run some Stabil in my motor and winterize.  The party's over.   :(

I imagine the parties in Crystal Bay are pared back a bit this time of year? (I think that's the party bay, isn't it?)

Help stop invasive spcies. Don't move fish between unconnected bodies of water. Clean, drain and dry your boat before launching on another water body.

I went out a couple of days after thanksgiving.

The temps were freakin frezzing. This was the first time i fished St. Clair after Oct. 1st. Managed a ski, Northern, and a 4lb smallie.
When in doubt, set the HOOK!!!

Crystal bay is even managable through the summer anymore cause most every one doesn't want to deal with crossing the border.

There is a ton of big green fish in there in the fall....
