Fished union lake this past sunday and what an adventure it was. I was going to meet Dartag at 8:00am and I was hoping for a calm, bright sunny day so we could really see all the offshore structure on the lake, but just like the past 2 times we fished together it was a hurricane blowing from the northwest and drizziling rain. I was going out to practise for a tourny next sunday and I always fish the same areas and do pretty good, but I just wanted to expand a little bit with some local knowlegde. I paid dartag the guide fee and off we went. We started in his favorite spot were he caught our first fish a very girthey 6 incher. That seamed to be the rule for the first half hour of fishing. Dartag did finally manage a nice brusier of a smallie that would go about 2 1/2 lbs and that would prove to be our biggest of the morning. We fished around the lake very quickly and we both managed a nice 8lb limit. We found a small hump that was in about 30' of water and came up to 20' and as soon as we started fihing my phone rings and it is my baby momma and she informs me her truck will not start. I tell her that I am at least an hour away and I cant help her right now, but I am on my way. I hang up and Dartag being the true gentelman he is suggests that I will rush off of the lake, hurry to get to were she is and she will call me when I am just about there to tell me it started. I agreed with him and we fished for another 45 minuets. As we were pulling to the dock guess who calls and tells me the truck is started and she is on her way home.. Dartag knows everything. Thats why i hang out with you older and wiser guys.
