Just an update to the drop shotting thread earlier. I now have on our teardropbass.com website the link to Seth Burrill's drop shotting DVD. I am very impressed with this DVD and if you are considering this technique this is a must two DVD set. If you get it let me know it you concur. I also have an article up on our Crystal Lake tournament in Beulah (NW corner of the state north of Manistee and south of Frankfort) Am heading up to fish the Elk/Torch chain. Fished it last Thursday for half a day. Did more looking than fishing. Didn't see any beds???? The fish are on the beds in the GT bay. Should be getting good up toward Elk Rapids and Elk and Torch are in the same latitude and are deep lakes and I would think the spawn would somewhat conincide. Anybody care to share any experiences or thoughts. Plan to check shallow and then if there are sitll no beds start fishing drops.  Never got up to Bellaire. Should we check it?? It's a long run. Taking off out of Skegemog DNR ramp.

If they are on beds on gt bay, the spawn should be just about done on the inland lakes.  They are right next to each other, but the big water is a whole different world for the fish.

Look past what they want you to see.

spinnerbait bite

Its tuff to beat the lake that your launching out of where it transitions into Elk. Stumps, boulders, gravel, and points. 1/2 oz chartruese and set your trolling motor on high and start chuckin KVD style till u find'em. Depending on which way the wind is blowing, the wind blown side of the point transitions into a flat 6-10 fow. Don't forget to check the stump field where the torch river comes into Skegemog Lake.

Didn't check the stump field. Think it is a frog bite or spinnerbait bump the stump thing?

It's normally a deeper, slower approach there, but I don't do it much myself there like I should. Caught up over the years in some other stuff, but the wood can be hard to beat, especially in the fall.

Help stop invasive spcies. Don't move fish between unconnected bodies of water. Clean, drain and dry your boat before launching on another water body.
