Well it's a mix of spawn and post spawn fishing.   The Sanford club was on Torch/Elk chain this past weekend and did a tonnnnn of site fishing on beds.  Good catches of fat smallies.   Smaller lakes are in the low 70's water temps and fish have moved off beds and are in a post spawn feeding frenzy.   Slugos , soft jerks, and crawdad imitations are working best for the post spawn fish.   Early ,early in the morning they are very, very shallow feeding on crawdad's.  Hot colors of soft jerks seem to be bright. White's and oranges seem to produce the best for me as of late.  The GT bay is coughing up huge hawg's around the Elk Rapids area and Old Mission point.    Good luck out there and stay safe.

I saw a wrapped truck at the east bay launch yesterday night on my way to leelanau.  looked like it had nitro and toyota tundra all over it.  It is the first time I have seen that one.

he was there again this morning.  it also has bass pro shop stickers on the truck.  not sure if it could be kvd or not the trailer is a single axle, but it could be a smaller boat for cheaper towing or something.  Definately a pro though.

Look past what they want you to see.
