Ok - I ordered some sample kit "stuff" from Lurecraft.  It has arrived.  I will be going to the store to get a hot plate.  Any recommendations on hot plates - temperature range, hi/lo, etc. or will any kind work?

Also, any recommendations on thermometers - what temperature range?

Hopefully I can bring my kit or learn enough at the meeting to take advantage of my kit.
