I'm planning on moving to a new server within the next 2 to 3 weeks. Just a little friendly warning as there might be a few hours of odd behavior when the process starts. I will try to have it done at night or weekend.

Should restrict the polls to west side lakes only (south of manistee).

We can keep it closer to the population centers if that will make a POSITIVE difference in the turnout. People were telling me they were tired of White and wanted to go North. I will go where I can get the best turnout, and hopefully most people can catch some fish, have some fun.

I like fishing all of those waters in the fall, even the Grand. I have fished the Grand in the fall in a while. I'm a little leery risking unfamiliar anglers on that water. You can't run just anywhere there especially with low water.

I know Waterfoul hates Hardy, but it's worth a look for that time of year.  It fishes small in the summer, but I love fishing HDP before June and after September.  It might be nice to take a look at someplace easy to get to from Kzoo as well, though I can't recommend Gun in good conscience as that lake has never been kind to me... :(

djkimmel

I would prefer Gull Lake myself maybe only because I've never actually fished Gun Lake. Haven't heard the latest on Gull but it has been real good in some past falls.

I like Hardy too. I've only fished it twice I think in the fall and I didn't do anywhere near as well as in the spring, but in the spring I usually go with someone who is always on them there. I did notice in the fall I catch quite a few species from similar waters more often.

I hate Hardy!

I vote for Gun simply because Slipkey doesn't like it!
Addicted to fishing.  All the time, any species, anywhere!!  Especially in West Michigan!!!

Bummer... Gun didn't make the poll...

Maybe next year (ESPECIALLY if I could get my hands on JVD's waypoints!!)?!?

I hear Hardy might be good for this year though...!?!

The only way I would go to Gun is if one was pointed at my head.   NBAA had there one on one championship there the last 2 years.  half the field did not weigh a fish.    Did Ovid make the pole

thedude

i wouldn't make anyone drive over here to fish hardy or gun for that matter any time of the year.  Trouble is we don't have a st. clair, so even our good lakes pale in comparison.

There are a lot of smaller lakes that can hold 15 boats and would be easier to pick apart in a day for the the guys that have never been there.  Morrison lake, Sessions, Reeds, Tamarack (lakeview, mi), Spring Lake, Fremont... etc

I think it should just be on elk or intermediate personally :)

I'd agree with the lakes thedude posted.  They all fish pretty well and are not difficult to figure out if you know anything about bass fishing.

Muskegon and White. What about Muskegon and White?  Come on guys.

Slipkey

@thedude: That's not a bad list, though I'd pick Jordan over Morrison, as the latter fishes pretty small.  The city ramp at Reeds is like a bad relationship: easy to get in to, but a PIA to get out of...  :o

@Mike S: Your boat *does* have a trailer, y'know...? :P

Mike S.

I know, but there is an east side and west side event. The east side is quite a drive, and 5 he north west one is quite a drive. It would be awesome to get to sleep just one time before heading out. I say Fremont. That lake is awesome.

djkimmel

Fremont has intrigued me for a while now... Reeds intrigues me fishing-wise. But not so much from what I hear about the parking...

I like Elk-Torch. I even like Intermediate - I only fished 1 tournament there ever and took 1st place and big bass!! Been a while since I was there but it was fun the last time too... ;D It seems a fair amount of people don't want to travel that far?

I haven't heard that Sessions Lake fishes very big - true, or not true?

I like Spring Lake in the fall (and/or bayous nearby). Usually. Not sure how many others agree?

Never been to Tamarack (at least I don't think I have?). Maybe been to Morrison once a long, long, long time ago? Seems like a love it not lake for some anglers? I thought Jordan Lake was somewhat similar. I've only been there once or twice. Did decent 1 time. Been a while for that one too?

One thing I won't do it put Lake Ovid on a West side poll. I really like Lake Ovid. Even on its off days, but I won't force any West siders to try to like it as much as I do, or even 25% as much. This should be the point where Genie posts...

What's the boat ramp like at Fremont? Depth? Parking?

Sessions does fish kind of small.  Morrison fishes better than Jordon, at least for the last couple of seasons.  Fremont fishes pretty big for it's size, the ramp on the south side can handle 15 rigs easy enough.  Has both smallies and largemouth too, mixed bags are quite common.

I'll through a curve and have Fremont on the list then.
