I'm disappointed to see now that House Natural Resources and Tourism Committee Chair Representative David Martin has added those very bad commercial fishing bills HB 5801 and 5802 to an upcoming committee hearing on Wednesday, May 20, 2026 at noon.

The poorly written, damaging to Michigan Sport Fishing commercial fishing bills have been introduced again. State House Bills 5801 and 5802, introduced by Rep. Dave Prestin and Rep. Jason Morgan, have been assigned to the House Committee on Natural Resources and Tourism.

This is a tale of two lakes. Intertwined lakes, in Barry County, Michigan. Where somehow the water has gone away. Upper and Lower Crooked Lakes, both near and dear to me, are suffering from the lowest water levels I've seen in the 35+ years I've been fishing them.

Date of event: March 8th, Saturday 11:00 till whenever
This year we have V.T.A.C. for our silent auction beneficiary. https://supportvtac.org/, 100% of the silent auction monies will be earmarked for the Veterans Treatment Assistance Corps. If you have questions (and I know you do) any tackle you haven't used or new bring it for the table, if its condition too bad to donate we will also have a free box for your duds or well used items. Tackle makers are welcome to sell/donate too, even sponsored semi pro or pro fisherman are also welcome to sell/donate. If there is nothing on the silent auction table you wish to bid on but still want to donate there will be a donation box (unbreakable) to place your donation. Fishing clubs and Teams are also invited.
The swap meet will be the same with no changes, the front door will open at 11:00am and close when the last person leaves. I will have tables set up for anyone to set up their tackle for trade or sell. Food, this year will start with my Texas chili (no beans), please feel free to bring one of your favorite dishes to pass. Drink, my fridge will be open full of beer and soft drinks, but feel free to bring your own beverage hard or soft.

Last post by djkimmel - January 05, 2025, 04:30:36 PMFor much of January 9 - 12, 2025, I will be sitting or standing in Booth 3054 at the Ultimate Fishing Show in Novi waiting for people to stop by and say hey. I hope a bunch of you travel over one or more of those days to check out the deals, free seminars and to visit.
I'll be next door to Xtreme Bass Tackle again near the NW corner of the building. I might be wandering a few times, or taking in some of the seminars myself with KVD, Z and Dobson, among others speaking.
I'll be out doing the Ultimate Bass Clinic on Saturday from 2:30 pm until 4:30 pm.

Last post by djkimmel - January 05, 2025, 04:25:45 PMAs far as the email notifications about post updates, Gmail likes to block those or send them to spam because they think it might not be legitimate regardless that I have the email set up to show it is real and not spam. Gmail does a better job sometimes blocking good email than it does bad email. For me anyway. If you have your spam settings set to strict or high, or whatever Gmail's version of that is, it will probably block a lot of website email that comes from the actual domain. But even at medium, some people have problems getting some website email. I can't really do anything more about that other than pay a bunch of money to send email through a paid email service. Even that doesn't get all of your email through Gmail, Yahoo, Aol and the other big email providers. Thanks to all the rotten spammers out there who never give up.

That embed link could work if the video embedder programmer would add it as an option. He may one of these days. I cleaned out the script code and kept the embed link only in your response because that's probably all that would be needed. Not sure if the regular links you share would work with embedder script even if he wanted to add it based on how his code appears to work.
No big deal. If it gets added one of these versions I will make a mention of it.
