Winter 2017 VHS Virus Fish Kills on Lake St. Clair

The Michigan Department of Natural Resources today announced that test results on fish collected in the ongoing fish kill event on Lake St. Clair were confirmed to be positive for viral hemorrhagic septicemia virus (VHSv).

VHS federal order amended for events

The VHS virus federal order has been amended effective 5/4/07 to allow transportation of live fish over international and interstate borders for fishing activities such as tournaments where the fish are released alive.
