Randy VanDam and GreatLakesBass.com are heading to the mighty Rio Negro with two groups in January 2012. Already one member of GreatLakesBass.com is confirmed going which is nice because I like to fish with my friends! The first week’s group, approximately January 7 – 14, 2012, is full. We have a few spots left with the second group yet, but time is running out! We have to close it off and turn it in to the outfitter soon so he has time to fill the remaining spots.

Two of the main outfitters in Brazil went out of business so Exotic Outdoor Adventures (Ron Speed Jr. with Ron Speeds Adventures) is now filling up a year in advance because demand is high while available beds on the boats have been reduced greatly. Despite increased demand, we were able to get a reduction in the trip cost to only $4,250 for 5 1/2 days of amazing peacock bass fishing aboard the luxurious Amazon Otter on the Rio Negro in Brazil.

The Amazon Otter, a shallow draft 4-decked boat, is air conditioned with larger bedrooms and an enclosed dining area for added comfort and includes two jacuzzis and an entertainment room with 8 double staterooms including private bathroom and shower. During the day, two anglers branch out with a local expert guide in each small aluminum bass boat-style boat to run into backwaters, lagoons and channels searching for world record-sized peacock bass! The Rio Negro is the home to the world record speckled peacock bass. Our last group caught 15 peacock over 20 pounds!!

The price above includes your plane ride from and to Manaus to the Amazon Otter (probably to Barcelos), lodging on the Amazon Otter and one night back in Manaus on the way out, all your meals on the boat and one in Manaus on the way out, beverages including a large stocked outdoor bar on the upper deck, 5 1/2 days guided fishing and access to a well-stocked tackle room with rods, reels, line and lots of tackle you can borrow while fishing (you do not have to bring your own tackle though you are welcome to bring your own reels and some lures if you prefer).

The price for the trip above does not include air fare from your home area to Manaus Brazil, passport, Brazilian Visa or incidentals such as tips.

You can still reserve your spot on week two (~January 14 – 21, 2012) with a small deposit now by contacting me or the outfitter, Ron Speed Jr., directly at 1-800-722-0006. You will reach Ron Speed Adventures. VERY IMPORTANT: Tell them that you are inquiring about the January 14 – 21, 2012 peacock bass fishing trip through Ron Speed Jr and Exotic Outdoor Adventures with GreatLakesBass.com and Randy VanDam to make sure you are with the correct group! Don’t wait! You do not want to miss out on this TRIP of a LIFETIME!
