MINNEAPOLIS (March 11, 2011) – The 2011 season of “FLW Outdoors” original programming begins Sunday, March 13, from 1-2 p.m. ET on VERSUS. The show will feature 48 weeks of the best coverage of competitive bass and walleye fishing from across the country including coverage of championship events such as the Forrest Wood Cup, Walmart BFL All-American, the EverStart Series Championship and the National Guard FLW College Fishing Championships.

Sunday’s season premiere features exclusive interviews with T. Boone Pickens and FLW Outdoors Chairman and CEO Irwin Jacobs from a visit to Pickens’ 68,000-acre ranch in Texas. In-depth interviews with both Jacobs and Pickens include shared memories of their past together, acknowledgment of the deep respect they have for one another and a discussion of their initiatives for FLW Outdoors and the environment. The Texas tycoon also enjoys an opportunity on the water with bass pro Randy Blaukat, who is representing the Pickens Plan on Tour in 2011.

Fans will enjoy a trip to a frozen Minnesota lake where a wounded military hero enjoys some ice-fishing with National Guard walleye pro Mark Courts. This hero’s harrowing tale of survival and his commitment to making the world a better place are sure to inspire all.

Folgers pro Scott Suggs will show how he trains during the offseason – in his own backyard pool – to put himself in position to succeed on Tour and become the first two-time Cup champion by repeating his 2007 performance on his home body of water as the Cup returns to Lake Ouachita in 2011.
