I had the privelege of fishing Pentwater Lake this weekend.  This pic completely sums up my two days of fishing:
My fishfinder is still not working, the lake was busy, they just went through a weed kill, I have tons of excuses, but if anyone wants to know where NOT to fish, I can definitely tell you.  Caught some huge largemouth but only 2 little smallies and action was ssloooooooooooooowwww both days.  2 of the other guys up there told me Pentwater isn't what it used to be at all.  They said people would come up there, take huge smallies for tournaments and go weigh them in elsewhere, combined with the weed killing factor, and when the Hart Dam broke, this was their explanation of the depleted fishery.  I really hope I got the wrong impression of this lake and I'm not making a judgement on it yet because I thought it was supposed to be like a Mecca for smallies.  Well there's my report and hopefully everyone else had a safe and enjoyable holiday weekend.

What's wrong with 'some huge largemouth?'

Help stop invasive spcies. Don't move fish between unconnected bodies of water. Clean, drain and dry your boat before launching on another water body.

I was there with a couple of my friends last month. We used to fish it early in the spring or late fall and catch a lot of 2 to 4 pound smallies. We would also catch a few bonus walleyes. We caught two 2.5 smallies in 7 hours of fishing. Something has changed.

Uh oh. Sounds like another White Lake?
