Got out today for a few hours.  In sharp contrast to Saturday, the water was much dirtier.  The runoff from the Clinton River Cutoff made the Western shoreline around the mile roads pretty stained and muddy in places.  The result was that the fishing was SLOOOWWW.  Got a nice one on a jerkbait early, then nothing for the next few hours.  Fished anywhere from 3 to 8 FOW around rocks, sand, and weeds.  Then as a last minute attempt to at least catch another fish before calling it a day, I went to my favorite canal for some largemouth only to discover it choked with floating weeds.  Yuck!  I did manage a 2lb Largemouth, but that was pretty much it for the day.

The good news was that the Clinton River cutoff launch at Ballard and Jefferson is open again.  But it's very shallow and muddy.  Keep your trim up if you launch there until you get out a few yards and bring a rag to wipe the boat down afterwards.

Going to Belleville to fish FOM this week.  If anyone has any insight for me as I have never been to this lake before, I'd really appreciate it.  PM me if you'd be willing to help a brotha out. THX.  T
