Broke into at Sterling State Park
« on: March 19, 2010, 11:05:57 PM »

Be careful not to leave anything in your truck.  Was fishing there on thursday. When I came back to the ramp after a great day on the water. Seen my alarm was going off and asked my buddy if he accidently pushed the button. When I see a guy on the other side of my truck. They got in there white explorer and bailed quick. Well $1100.00 worth of damage. Just keep your eyes out. Jim

Sorry to hear that. I hate criminals!

Help stop invasive spcies. Don't move fish between unconnected bodies of water. Clean, drain and dry your boat before launching on another water body.

I feel for you. I had the same thing happen to me last year at the selfridge launch. They took a TV DVD player my Ipod. they tried to get the radio but could not get the dash pannel off. The Cop's told me they have had a lot of issues with brake in at that launch so I do not launch there anymore. I hope these low lifes get what they got comming nothing like getting a real job. It's much easier to be a low life peice of scum.

I've never had a problem, but I know that I could.
I always hide everything that looks like it might be of any value.
But, sometimes the parking lots are just too well hidden.

A long time ago my Dad told me that if nobody every\ bought "hot" stuff, the market would dry up, and thieves would have little reason to steal.

That's part of why I've never bought any really good deals.

Guys that do that kind of thing just make me sick.

Question:  If I pay to park in a parking lot, and something happens to my vehicle it is my understanding that the parking lot owners can be held responsible.  Am I wrong?  And if I'm right, would this principle apply to the parks and boat launches?

That is why we used to hang horse thieves, in this country!!!  I wish we could return to that level of criminal justice.

Metro Is the best launch to launch from they have police that patrol the lot every 30 min. And I agree we should go back to public humiliations. You get caught stealing we cut your hand off in a public place maybe if we shame these people in public it will send the message. people work hard for the things they have. And in this current economic it seems you work twice as hard to get the things you like and want. I kinda just tip my head to the sky knowing the big guy in the sky will give these criminals what they got coming. I always remember what go's around comes around. And The thing that bugs me the most about this is you pay to park at these ramps and when you approach them with my car got broke into they don't even care like we are not responsible. if thats the case why the hell do they even pay to have a person sit and collect money they could just put one of them electric arms in save the DNR a ton of money. IMO
