I need to spool up my rods soon. I need your guys advise. I want to buy flourocarbon for most of my rods, but I don't want to spend too much. :o Any thoughts on who makes a good line at a reasonable price ???

I have been using Bass Pro's brand for years.  I have tried many other brands, but have not liked it near as much.  Just seems to be stronger, more abrasion resistant and casts with my baitcasters so much better.  I always catch it on sale and seems to be cheaper in price than most.

Victor Cerabone

Seaguar is my fav.  I use it on all my spinner gear.

TCook

Seaguar invizx and abrazx, best line for your money.
FISH HARD!!!

LGMOUTH

Bass pro is probably the best for the price but I believe that seaguar is the best all around line. As I have stated before on another thread the seaguar has the best diameter size to poundage percentage.
When you are in any contest you should work as if there whereto the very last minute a chance to loose it.

Bass Pro has my vote. I am sure there are other quality lines out there as well. Best advise I received was to try different brands and see what works best for you. Once you decide, stick with it to build familiarity with the lines performance. Changing brands frequently will likely lead to trouble at the worst time.

Also line conditioner never seems to hurt.

My only suggestion: "Don't use Vanish"

I couldn't have said it better myself.  BPS Flouro has my vote, as I have been using it for about 4 years now.

I have to agree with DD. I tried Vanish last year, horrible stuff. Going to use P-Line Halo this year. At least to start.

Potter

I have not used vanish for a couple of years.  It sure did seem to "shatter" on a regular basis for me.  I to have used BPS for some time now, with positive results.  I did try some of the trilene 100% last year and was pleased.  Anyone else use this stuff?

Another one to add to the do not use list...Vicious. Terrible.  Both flouro and braid. Lost one of those 13 pounders on Newton cause of this line  ;)

MIBasser

I'm another vote for BPS flouro.  I use is on spinning and bait casters.

Bender

I tried Vicious last year too, terrible. I recently read that they said there were design problems and they corrected it but once was enough for me. The BPS line is great for the price, InvisiX costs a little more but I like it a little better. I just tried some Sunline FC Sniper at the end of last year and liked it best, but not cheap. Forum sponsor Lee's Global Tackle has Seagar for $16.50 and had Sniper on clearance but it looks like they sold out of that.

I agree on that, Vanish is horrible. Started using P-line and it isnt too bad, still not what I'm looking for.

Mojo

Im going against the grain on the BPS floro my bros. ITs just too stiff for spinning gear, even with a complete pullout after spooling (walk the line down the block with no lure tied on) and a ton of silicone applied as I reel it up, the 8 and 10 lb seems to twist to easily on my Stradic 2500s. IT seems like the Berkley is so much limper, and for my tubes and dropshot, I havent broke off one fish (and I have a medium heavy hookset on medium rods) with the Berkley product.

Stay away from the Vicious.

Another question for anyone who knows: Seagaur carbon pro flouro. Any good ?

And

Is there a shelf life to Flourocarbon line ?
Thanks Dan for bringing year round Catch and Release to Michigan

I tried Vicious last year too, terrible.

I couldn't disagree more I've been using it exclusively for the last 3 years and have had zero issue and would reccommend it to anyone.

Hooksetter

I also have to vote against BPS floro. I tried it on my casting and spinning reels and did not like it at all. Way too stiff.

I tried Vanish also. That was a huge waste of time. Worst I've ever used.

I've used P-Line Halo since it has been out and like it alot. No problems at all.

P-Line Halo

Line is the most important link between you and the next fish of a lifetime...

Help stop invasive spcies. Don't move fish between unconnected bodies of water. Clean, drain and dry your boat before launching on another water body.
