I'm planning on moving to a new server within the next 2 to 3 weeks. Just a little friendly warning as there might be a few hours of odd behavior when the process starts. I will try to have it done at night or weekend.

you all seen this thing yet?? peep these spec's

The new Vmax will be called SHO(Super High Output). The hp will be 200,225, and 250. They are all based on a new 4.2L V6 block with plasma-fused sleeveless cylinders which allows much more cubic inches in the same size block. The weight is 505 which is the same as the Pro XS and the E-tec. Acceleration is said to be almost a full second quicker in 200ft than the E-tec or Pro XS. Top speed is supposed to be equal or better than any 2-stroke of equal hp. New nosecone lower unit with lower water pickups than before.
They are also releasing a new 300hp offshore engine that is only 558lbs based on the same 4.2L V-6 block and a new 70hp 4-stroke that only weighs 260lbs. Sounds extrememly promising! The weight alone is impressive!!!

as a long time hammer fan i got to say "bout dam time" though they sure as god made lil green apples they need to work on that lower un it a bit more. most haulers-boats running 80+mph- use a merc lower or a titus design of a merc lower..

here it is running.. mind you it is a 250 four stroke on a 21 skeeter..kinda like putting a 300 slant 6 in a city bus imo..

That is a Ranger not a Skeeter.

What's with the news these days on the TV and the radio. Can't find the truth amongst the lies. Some talking head that claims to live their life in a better way, says I have to compromise. But now there's something on the rise. Truth has opened up my eyes. There's no running from your dirty lies. You can't avoid the truth. I'll no longer close my eyes.

Looks like a good time to me.  Wish I had a fast boat.

Great concept. I'm always afraid of new things. Maybe wait till the bugs are all worked out.

Lightningboy

All you MI boys gonna buy foreign?  Gonna park it next to your Tundra?

Tsk, tsk, tsk.    ;)

C'mon, be patriotic.  Come over to the dark side.

Well I have a Toyota Sequoia  .The extra 4-5 miles a gallon over a tahoe is what sold me! And yes I have a skeeter with a 200 yamaha on it. Dude I served my country in a Iraq and I guess that makes it my perogative to run or buy anything I want too.

MadWags

Thanks for your service Jim and God bless America. We are free and part of that freedom is the freedom of choice.

Everybody chill...I got the worst Japanese bait habit you ever seen.

But I love them black motors.

djkimmel

Lightningboy - you must love the new site sponsor Lee's Global Tackle then ;D

Just like I like my Yamaha VMax HPDI 225!! Turn the key reliability!! Our season's too short for anything else!

Absolutely, among a few others.  I admire the innovative design, and superb craftsmanship.  Making how it looks secondary to the action desired really pushes the envelope of bait design.

On the motors, y'all can keep them quiet gray ones.  I say the season's too short not to run like a scalded dog whenever possible.   ;D

BTW- McCarter says Lightning idling sounds like the intro to "hot for teacher"...Gotta love it!

I've always been a Merc fan, but I must say, the ride I got this summer on a 20i with a 250 Yam was sweet.  I was impressed, and I am really impressed with what I see of that 4 stroke.  Verado can't run like that!  4 strokes rule.  And, with how crazy people are getting about all these proposed 2 stroke bans, I think Yamaha is going to do very well with this.  I have one of their 4 stroke quads, and with it's long stroke and short rod design, it makes some awesome power, and revs like a 2 stroke.  I hope when it comes time for a new boat, I can find one with this SHO on it.  Curious to see the sticker on a new Skeeter with this motor.  I just keep telling my wife that it will be like buying 3 new trucks and driving them till they are paid off.

The new Bass Master has an article about Alton Jones running one of the new Skeeters with an sho on it, and they say his boat is 70 grand.  Motor alone is 22 g's!  I'll NEVER own one.  Too rich for my blood.

torch laker

FYI the new SHO is only 1000.00 more in cost to a HPDI.The wild prices would be from a factory MSRP sheet with all options and motor at list price. You will see a loaded top of the line, skeeter or ranger with a 250 SHO for around 55,000 which is where they have been with a HPDI for a couple of years.I have been in the 20' ranger, basscat and 20i skeeter with this motor all in the same day and all I can say is Wow!!.I love my HPDI 250 but this new motor is awesome. No smoke no shake and I could talk to Alton Jones at 40 mph with no problem.
