Detroit area inland bass lakes

Can someone tell me about some local inland lakes that are very good for bass "right now"?   Within an hour of the Detroit area.  I have not fished any inland lakes in a long time and really want to this fall.   Also if you can share the techniques that are working "best" on the particular lake you may mention here.  Thanks very much, hopefully some nice largemouth or smallies will come to the side of my boat.   I would like to land some bigger (3 to 5lbs.) largemouth but not sure which local lakes are giving up this size bass right now... so if you know, let me know, thanks, Slowmo.

Belleville, Ford, Pontiac, Orchard, Tipsico, Woodland, Long, and Pontiac just to name a few have been some of my favorite inland lakes during the fall over the years.  Belleville and Ford have been my most favorite.  Right now I hear that Ford is having an algae bloom.    So I would say it is probably kind of tough there.  But once that clears up and the water temp falls into the 50's, it is hard to beat.  Belleville is about the same as it is downstream of Ford.  I haven't heard of any bloom there.  They are all good for plastics, spinnerbaits, and especially crankbaits.  Usually Lake Erie is my lake of choice in the fall.  The largies come out of the backwater areas and the smallies move up into the mouth of the Detroit River.  If you don't have a large enough boat to go out there, then try the ones I mentioned.  You should do well.

Bigger fish - Kent Lake like Benny said

More fish - Woodland (Brighton)
I haven't been there for a month, but all year this lake has produced the most bass for me.

Tipsico also has some bigger fish, but not sure how it is right now. I've also hear Orion has some big fish but I only went there once this year and didn't get anything over 3#, and only a few fish.

Those are some nice wieghts for a 3 fish limit.  Almost a 3lb average on Kent.  I have never been a big fan of Kent I guess because I don't like running around at 10mph all day or nite which is the case hear.  Probably a poor excuse on my part.  Kent does have some toads both largemouth and smallmouth.

I only went to Woodland twice this year but I would agree on the numbers.  Lots of numbers for an inland lake.  Tipsico has never been a great fall lake but since I have figured that out over the years, I like it.......I like it a lot. 

Belleville and Ford have always been staples for me in the fall.  When the fall crankbait bite is on.....it is on!!!!!!  The water temp has to be in the 50's.  It's probably not there yet, but always worth a try.  The bass start to school up and you can catch not only good numbers but some toads in the 4 to 5 pound range.  Matter of fact I may be headed out to Belleville after work today for a couple of hours.  The days are getting shorter so fishing in daylight is very limited.  I try to start at work earlier so I can get my eight so that I can skate.

I was out on Lobdell this morning and the drop shot bite was on!! Nemisis Goby's were the bait. I don't think I've ever seen a Goby at Lodell but the Bass love em!
