What is the best epoxy and inexpensive to use to apply transducher (sp) to inside of a fiberglass boat

fowlmouth

I'm sure someone will chime in with the right stuff, but I used the stuff off the shelf from meijer's that comes in the double barrell syringe thingy. Most important thing is to be very careful not to get bubbles in it when mixing, bubbles in the epoxy will not allow your transducer to work properly.

fowlmouth

oh yeah, and welcome to the forum!!!

He's been hanging around a long time. He just keeps busy delivering all those toys every year ;D

I need to remember the name of the stuff I used last time...?? The various companies always recommend a 'marine-grade' two part epoxy, but I think the most important is good quality stuff put on a dry, clean hull. No air bubbles as fowlmouth pointed out. And the proper drying time.

Help stop invasive spcies. Don't move fish between unconnected bodies of water. Clean, drain and dry your boat before launching on another water body.

if you get bubbles, pour it onto a sheet of aluminum foil and hit it with a hair dryer or heat gun.

Best and inexpensive?  Those terms are mutually exclusive.  You want the best?  Go to your local West Marine and get some West Systems G-Flex.  You'll have enough left over for any repair you might have to make in the future.  Second choice would be a twin syringe of a product called Flexiset, also available at West Marine.  Squeeze it out of the tubes very slowly and mix it very slowly..... because:

NO air bubbles is a must.

I used the stuff from Lowrance.....You do not want to use any type of Quick setting epoxy...
