I'm disappointed to see now that House Natural Resources and Tourism Committee Chair Representative David Martin has added those very bad commercial fishing bills HB 5801 and 5802 to an upcoming committee hearing on Wednesday, May 20, 2026 at noon.

The poorly written, damaging to Michigan Sport Fishing commercial fishing bills have been introduced again. State House Bills 5801 and 5802, introduced by Rep. Dave Prestin and Rep. Jason Morgan, have been assigned to the House Committee on Natural Resources and Tourism.

This is a tale of two lakes. Intertwined lakes, in Barry County, Michigan. Where somehow the water has gone away. Upper and Lower Crooked Lakes, both near and dear to me, are suffering from the lowest water levels I've seen in the 35+ years I've been fishing them.

If you can't learn anything from this guy - The KVD (Kevin VanDam if you've been under a rock for a while ;D ) - there's no help for you!!!

Today only (Thursday, March 10, 2022) at the Ultimate Sport Show Grand Rapids, KVD will be giving out more secrets and golden (platinum?) nuggets of bass fishing genius!

Catch his Ultimate Bass Fishing seminar at:
3pm - 4pm - Stages E & F (out in the main hall)
6pm - 7pm - Lake Ultimate - the perfect place for Ultimate Bass Fishing!

If you really want to get some secrets, I'm 'warming' people up for KVD each day (purely coincidental! ;D). I'm on the Hawg Trough today from 2pm-3pm doing "When and Why to Change Lures or Presentation" and also, sam seminar Friday, March 11 5pm - 6pm on the Hawg Trough. (Yeah, I get to 'fish!!!')

The Hawg Trough in in the far back corner. Not far at all from my booth 1879, and another BONUS!!! Wayne's Xtreme Bass Tackle is right next door to me! Tubes GALORE!!

Help stop invasive spcies. Don't move fish between unconnected bodies of water. Clean, drain and dry your boat before launching on another water body.
