I'm planning on moving to a new server within the next 2 to 3 weeks. Just a little friendly warning as there might be a few hours of odd behavior when the process starts. I will try to have it done at night or weekend.

Yesterday at the Natural Resources Commission meeting in Lansing, science prevailed thanks to many, many persons who took the time to write in, and especially those who showed up to speak before the Commission on Commissioner Walters’ amendment to close bass fishing on the Inland Waterway and Black Lake from May 1 until the third Saturday in June.

Just before the October Natural Resources Committee meeting on Thursday, October 9, Commissioner John Walters added an amendment to Fisheries Order 206 – “Bass - Closed bass CIR season from May 1 – Friday before the third Saturday in June for Burt, Mullet, Crooked, Pickerel, and Black Lakes and their connecting waters.”

Due to low water levels on the Great Lakes, particularly Lake St. Clair, the mouth of the channel at the Michigan DNR Clinton River Cutoff ramp needs to be dredged.

AVID Bass Anglers of Michigan is currently looking for both boater's and non-boater's that would like to become members of our club.  

As a club, we host 2 Open Tournaments, 6 Club tournaments and a Classic tournament.

We currently have 7 members for the 2010 season.

The membership dues for a new members are $95.00, combination of National B.A.S.S. Federation Nation and State B.A.S.S. Federation Nation dues ($30.00 + $25.00), as well as a $20.00 non-refundable Classic Fund fee and  $20.00 new member fee.

The entry fee for Club Tournaments is $25.00.  $5.00 is for the big bass pot, 25% of the $20.00 shall be retained for the Club general fund.  We do our best to have the non-boater fish with a different boater at each of our club tournaments.  This promotes the camaraderie within our club.

You are more than welcome to join us at our next meeting; our meetings are held on the 1st Sunday of the month November through May, with a few exceptions, so check our website www.avidbassanglersofmichigan.com for exact dates and additional contact information.  Meetings are held at Lakeland Carpet, Whitmore Lake located at 9287 East M36  (½ mile west of US-23 (next to Barnstormer)), starting at 6:00 pm.
