Traveled over with my friend Rick in the a.m.  Due to traffic on 96/696 we got on the water an hour later than we planned.  But we still did pretty well.

5th cast of the morning got our first and biggest fish, 5.3 lbs.  Came on a dark red craw pattern Rock Crawler in 6-7 FOW.  Water temp at 9:30 was 52 degrees.  We caught a few others here on the crank and several on the Great Lakes Dancer darter type bait.  Then the bite just stopped!

We moved down the lake a ways to another spot... no luck.  Then based on intel from THE Dan Kimmel, we moved further down the lake, caught some fish and found a honey hole (Dan did not give me the location of said Honey Hole though).  Firefighter Jeff motored down and joined us after a little while and we caught plenty of fish.  We caught most of ours swimming a 5" Kalans grub on a 1/4 ball head jig, and drop shotting a Nemesis Goby.   I think Jeff got most of his on a Wiggle Wart.

All together I think Rick and I boated 60-70 fish total.  Not bad for having about a 2 1/2 hour period where we didn't catch anything.  By the time we left the water had warmed up to 57 degrees in the 7-9 FOW range.  I'm sure today's clouds and cooler temps brought it back down a few degrees though.

All my photos are too large and I don't have the ability to make them smaller here at work (I'm on my lunch break!).

I didn't give up any trade secrets... ;D

Help stop invasive spcies. Don't move fish between unconnected bodies of water. Clean, drain and dry your boat before launching on another water body.
