There is supposed to be a model year update similar to what they did to the Premier line last year.

The Grandville Gander Mountain has all their St. Croix Legend Tournament series rod on clearance for $149.  Normally $220.  Bought one Friday!!  What a rod, and it's a steal at $149.

Not sure if this is a Gander wide event or if it's just this one store... but you should check it out.  A Legend for the price of an Avid.

Gander also has their Avids on sale for $99.  You should all be stealing these rods before St. Croix realizes what they are doing!!  Can't wait to see the new models.

No luck at Gander Mt Novi.  I was there last night returning a reel and was hoping to use the money to snag an Avid.  They are all full price.  I asked the dept manager and he said as far as he knows, St Croixs never go on sale.  Oh well.  I did manage another Abu Garcia Revo S for $80, some more bitsy bugs, a Rapala DT 10, and some speed clips.  Would have been nice to add another avid to the collection tho.

Huh... that's wierd.  Both Gander's here in GR have their Legends and Avids on clearance.  It's true they never really "go on sale" but if they are making a change to the blank or something... they (Croix) are probably trying to move some rods out of the way of the new ones.

The fishing manager here did tell me this was a Croix directed clearance sale.  So I guess if you want one you may have to trek over to Grand Rapids!

Bass pro in Auburn hills has their spinning avids marked down to $110-$125.  Not much left, mostly med lite action.  Cabelas website bargain cave has the blanks on sale for $60, but after shipping it's about normal price.

Waterfoul,

The only thing to do here is for you to pick up 2 or 3 of them and give them to me as an early christmas present.

Your thought?
