Heading there the first weekend of Oct.  Any suggestions...will there be a spinnerbait bite or jerkbait bite?  Not looking for specifics just general information.  I have never been on the bay so I will be learning on the go.  Thank in advance!

Guess everyone has lockjaw!   :o  Oh well I will post some results when I return.

Na. No lock jawn . I just have not been out there since a club event mid June. And it sucked.  7 pounds to win with 10 boats.  I'm sure somewhere between my Leelanau run this weekend, and the club championship end of the month on Burt and Mullet , I'll make it out there .   Spinnerbaits work wonders in the fall up here.  Old mission harbor,  Yuba, Petobogo swamp area, and of course the bottom of the bay flats. Good places to start for a first timer out there. If you haven't been here yet.    Launch either at Elk Rapids if it is a light wind any direction, or Center road launch a few miles up the east side of Old Mission Pennisula if the wind is blowin. Careful of the diver duck hunters around Petobogo as season opens Oct 1st. . Just be prepared to burn some gas.

Hey thanks for the info! I really like the looks of the area north of elk rapids! I will let you know how we do. I will also be on skeg.

Help stop invasive spcies. Don't move fish between unconnected bodies of water. Clean, drain and dry your boat before launching on another water body.
