Move went fine. The new server is much faster. Which is good!

I'm planning on moving to a new server within the next 2 to 3 weeks. Just a little friendly warning as there might be a few hours of odd behavior when the process starts. I will try to have it done at night or weekend.

Yesterday at the Natural Resources Commission meeting in Lansing, science prevailed thanks to many, many persons who took the time to write in, and especially those who showed up to speak before the Commission on Commissioner Walters’ amendment to close bass fishing on the Inland Waterway and Black Lake from May 1 until the third Saturday in June.

Fished yesterday with Dan aka Hollada.  Got to Crocker a little early and was surprised there were not as many trailers as I thought there would be.  The Coast Guard guys were there.  They did the inspection and we chatted a bit.  Headed south towards memorial following Big Dog.  Caught some 2-3 pound fish but they were scattered.  Headed a little further south and it was about the same.  Headed back north and it was a solid line of boats in 7 foot of water.  About 11 we decided it was time to go largemouth fishing in the canals.  The fish must just be moving is because they were mostly at the ends of the canals.  Caught quite a few.  Dan finally figured out the jig bite and caught the biggest fish around 3 pounds.    Water was really clear out to 13 feet.

Hopefully with the rain and storms we are supposed to get next week the fish will move.  Saw very few around the rocks.

Best bait for smallies was a jerkbait or drop shot Case worm.

We were out there for 10 hours yesterday. We only caught 30 fish, but we had one over 6, 3 over 5, 1 that was just shy of 5, and 2 really nice 4's. According to the scale, our best 5 went 25-15. We were happy.

We did load up and drive to the Crocker launch around 3:00. It was easier than running all the way down the lake. At some point it had to have been a zoo there. There were trucks parked anywhere they could stick one. We didn't even get a bite on the mile roads. All but about 10 boats were gone as well.

Between bob o and myself, we caught probably 16 fish, but bob was a bigger contributor than myself.  Biggest fish was probably 3ish pound largemouth.  Caught them on drop shot tube and jerkbaits at the mile roads. Caught one LM back in Ford Cove on a bullet craw (my first bullet craw bass). Bob got bit off by a few toothy critters.  Think we caught a few on tubes at the mile roads too.  Only pattern we could figure was baits that had a bit of white in them.  White/tan craw or xtreme perch. I'm the only guy that likes that perch color though :P
