The Michigan
House Passes Pro-Hunting Citizen Initiative Into Law by a vote of 65-43 on August 27, 2014. The Scientific Fish and Wildlife Conservation Act (SFWCA) is now law, rendering two anti-hunting, anti-scientific fish and wildlife management referendums in November moot.
56 Republicans and 9 Democrats voted Yes rejecting the manipulation and misleading tactics by the Washington DC anti-hunting, anti-fishing radical animal rights Humane Society of the United States and their allies to make it easier for them to referendum our fishing and hunting rights away. The vote sent a strong message that Michigan will manage our natural resources by sound science, not emotion and false marketing campaigns.
The Michigan Senate had already passed the SFWCA by a 23-10 vote on August 13th (22 Republicans, 1 Democrat voted Yes). As an unchanged citizen's initiative passed by both chambers our Act becomes law without the need of the Governor's signature.
