I'm planning on moving to a new server within the next 2 to 3 weeks. Just a little friendly warning as there might be a few hours of odd behavior when the process starts. I will try to have it done at night or weekend.

Well mother nature has been trying to make it no fun to go out there but the we old salty fishermen keep heading out and over all the fishing has been good for many. Muskie Season does open this weekend (June 1st) so keep an eye out for people trolling and boards , I know last week a few of the walleye trollers had some issue with guys not watching for boards. Leave room and share the water it's all of ours.

Also a few Mayfiles aka Fish flies have started to hatch we are at the tail end of the a very strong midge hatch on the lake and that is when the mayflies start. The Midge hatch brings lots of bait fish in shallow to feed which in-turn brings all the tasty things we like to eat and catch.

Muskie - There has been lots of reports from the bass guys of them catching more then a few Muskie while casting crankbaits over the past few week. The 400 club south to the Fords cove should have plenty muskie for those wanting cast and troll.

Brain Metry from Jack-It Products a local crankbait company

Walleye - As the water cleared the bite did get tougher during the day, it was best to fish when the boat traffic was light on the lake in the clean water. We had some pretty hard rains here locally and we have a good mud-line out behind the shop now so work the stained edge with harness. Report of guys catching them from shore are still coming in but the white bass has moved in that Metro so you have to fight through the white bass to get the walleye. A good way to do this is cast past the school of white bass if you can and let the lure get to the bottom and start bringing it in. many times the walleye will be under them picking up easy meals.Blade baits have still been working very well. For your trollers the speed of choice has been from .8 to 1.2MPH. In-Line weights have been the staple for many but with the weed growth picking up speed you may need to run short arm BB to keep the weeds off when your running high.

Bass - A lot guys from out of state in the area working hard to catch these brown fish. Tubes in St. Clair Perch, Canadian Goby, Green Lanturn, Green Pumpkin Hybrid, Toad Teaser,Melon Purple Hologram, Natural Goby, Panic Goby, Real Goby, The Shiz Hologram and Purple Spring Goby are the most popular colors right now on the lake with the bass guys that are fishing tubes. Guys are also throwing a lot of stick worms and flukes in the shallow for the bedding fish. The guys that have been working the deeper waters have been fishing drop-shots with X-Zone Slammers and Erie Darters.

Sunfish - The spawn is on so get at them boys.

Catfish - Spillway has been on the last few days with large Channel cats coming out I had one I weighted yesterday that went 25 lbs.
