Move went fine. The new server is much faster. Which is good!

I'm planning on moving to a new server within the next 2 to 3 weeks. Just a little friendly warning as there might be a few hours of odd behavior when the process starts. I will try to have it done at night or weekend.

Yesterday at the Natural Resources Commission meeting in Lansing, science prevailed thanks to many, many persons who took the time to write in, and especially those who showed up to speak before the Commission on Commissioner Walters’ amendment to close bass fishing on the Inland Waterway and Black Lake from May 1 until the third Saturday in June.

Took my little fishing buddy out for a couple hours this morning.  I thought I'd play it safe and fish some canals to keep her out of the wind and rough water this morning.  Well that was a bust.  It was muddy everywhere thanks to all the wind and rain.  So we abandoned that plan, pulled the boat out and drove down to 11 Mile and put it in there.  The water around 11/12 Mile was much clearer and thankfully the wind died down and we were able to toss out a drift sock and fish it.  We only got to fish for about an hour, but it was a pretty good one.  The snotty grass is really annoying when trying to fish a tube and even a dropshot.  So borrowing from a little experience I had last Thursday, I started throwing a 1/2 oz Booyah all chartreuse spinnerbait with painted willow blades.  We had a great 1 hour.  Actually it was about 20 minutes of actual fishing with 7 quick ones caught.  Did I mention it was a 3lb average?  Of course, I would have liked to fish all day like that, but for that small amount of fishing, it was a riot.  I didn't see another person boat a fish near me.  But we rocked em for a little bit.  Awesome.  If you have never experienced the spinnerbait bite on St. Clair, you're missing it.  These windy days really lend themselves to this style of fishing.  We were doing the best in 7.5 to 8.1 FOW.  We set up with the sock and casted with the wind so we could get long casts.  Worked like a charm.  I just may need to do this again tomorrow!  Oh crap...gotta work.  Life is good.

Tom, I wanna be you. I'm still working too much to be able to get out anytime. Great report. I have yet to catch a smallie on LSC with a spinnerbait and I love catching fish with them. I saw you are logged on and while I'm watching the Wings game figured you might be writing a report.
I hope to get out next week. In the mean time I'll satisfy my needs reading your reports.

LOL  Think twice before you wanna be me.  ;)  That means you get my bills, my stress, my job, and my gut. haha  Yeah man, you gotta get out while the bite is good.  It gets harder out there throughout the summer locating the fish, but it's e a s y now.  Life is good.

Nice report Tom.  I still have not had my boat out of the garage yet this year.

Planning on doing the last 4 BFL's so hopefully that will force me to get out there some.

;D.      Me too. Send me a text, I'll fill u in on Burt mullet.  Hope we get some Thursday's out on Erie.

Tom. Could you see bottom when you were in 8 fow? I found magic in the lucky craft deep dive 115 jerk bait this weekend, doing exactly what you were. Except I think I was running it over bed fish. All 4 lb fish too ! Glad to see the spinnerbait bite is on. It should last through June, and then it's back to tubes and cranks in 12-16 fow.
Thanks Dan for bringing year round Catch and Release to Michigan

When we were over in that area Saturday I could see bottom in 10 foot of water even in the cloudy conditions...It wasn't gin clear but I could pick out some beds and such at that depth.

Mojo - Plan on the Thursday before each event - after all, someone has to stick all of my big fish before the tx!   ;D
