I'm planning on moving to a new server within the next 2 to 3 weeks. Just a little friendly warning as there might be a few hours of odd behavior when the process starts. I will try to have it done at night or weekend.

Where can I find the best deal on batteries?
FISH HARD!!!

Wallmart

As much as I hate the place. There the best bet on Batt's these days
Plus there the only place that i've found the Gulp recharge

Waterfoul

You'll get what you pay for at Walmart.  Everstart's are made in China.

Get some Deka's.  Made in the USA and will outlast any Everlast on the market.

Well I can't say that they are or aren't made in China
But they are made by Johnston Controls and there the same as the Sears diehards
they do have three years of free replacement plus two years prorated replacement and there 99 bucks for the
group 29's
There the bargin

Made in China according to my battery rep, JCI or not (I used to work for JCI too... for 16 years).  Not necessarily the "same" as a Diehard, JCi makes more batteries than any other manufacturer.  Deka and Interstate are about the only batteries not made by JCI these days.

So what's the warr. on the Deka's?

My partner needs them, I was just curious what places sold them the cheapest or if anyone had a cheaper source.

Mine have one full year replacement and 3 additional pro-rated.  Better than the industry "standard."  I just replaced mine after 4 years 3 months of solid use.  I use my boat A LOT, just ask anyone who knows me, often 4-5 times a week.  My batteries get abused!!!

Everyone also need to remember to check the water on their deep cycles.  They will use it up.  This is very important to extending battery life.

I know Dan Kimmel swears by his Deka's too.

Big dreams

I have purchased the last two sets at Wal Mart and have great success with them.  The first set lasted 4 years with no issues.  I am able to run two day tournaments with them without recharging the batteries.  That's running an HDS 8 and HDS 5 at all times with a 24v TM.  I think the first set would have lasted 5-6 years of it wasn't for the accident I was in.  Add the great performance and the bonus of them being cheaper than any other battery out there.....I would highly recommend going to Wal Mart.

gmetime24

I have had my current boat for about 6 years and for my starting battery I use the everstarts from Walmart. The first one lasted about 4 years and I'm going into year two on my second battery. I'm sure there are better ones out there but I have no complaints

stackenem

I got my deka 31 series at battieries plus 89 buck apiece deep cycle also

MSURoss

Were they on sale? I just called the B+ in Mt. Pleasant $119 for a 31 still good price...

FOB

I suggest the Walmart Everstarts as well.  Main reason is I had a dead cell last year on my crank battery and was out of state.  Had one year left on the warranty.  I walked into the local Walmart w/ my receipt, and exchanged it no problems.  Only issue with other batteries is finding a place to exchange if needed, especially out of state, and at a tournament.

Just bought two 29 series Everstart Maxx from Wamart.  They now have a 24 month free replacement for the $99 version, not 36.  And good heavens you guys are running 31 series ????

YpsiBass

I can't be the only person on this board to use Cabela's AGM batteries...

Slipkey

Having owned Interstates, Dekkas and now Everstarts, I would have to give the performance nod to the Dekka.  I will probably go with them again the next time.  I'm running a 36V G-29 Everstart Maxx setup at the moment and, while the total charge time numbers are fairly close, the Dekkas held full power longer in the discharge "curve".

thedude

my dekas were good. i switched to everstarts and meijer batteries now however cheaper and last just as long. Dekas kept turning up half empty anyway.
